Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Developer to join a Fortune 500 Financial Services Firm in Dallas, TX on a contract basis. The ideal candidate brings 7 or more years of professional software development experience with deep expertise in Java, React, Spring Boot, AWS, Microservices architecture, REST APIs, and SQL databases.

In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining highly scalable and resilient distributed systems. You will collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and fellow engineers within an Agile environment to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet critical business objectives. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy high-performance microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS cloud services to support mission-critical financial applications.
• Build responsive and interactive front-end interfaces using React, ensuring seamless user experiences across desktop and mobile platforms.
• Architect and optimize RESTful APIs that enable efficient communication between distributed systems, enforcing security standards and data integrity.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established coding standards, design patterns, and software engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product owners, business analysts, QA engineers, and DevOps specialists in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes to ensure system reliability and uptime.

Required Qualifications

• 7 or more years of professional software development experience building enterprise-grade applications.
• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 11 or later) with demonstrated experience in object-oriented design and concurrent programming.
• Hands-on experience with React including state management (Redux or Context API), hooks, and component-based architecture.
• Deep expertise in Spring Boot for building RESTful microservices, including Spring Security, Spring Data, and Spring Cloud.
• Proven experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, SQS, SNS, and CloudFormation.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Oracle) including query optimization and schema design.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems (Git), and automated testing frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the financial services or banking industry with knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis for real-time data streaming.
• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Oracle Java SE Certified Developer, or equivalent.
• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, DynamoDB) and data caching solutions (Redis, ElastiCache).
